Attractions in Evansville
With just over 100,000 people living in the city limits, Evansville offers the best of both worlds -- small town charm and big city fun. Luckily, no matter what part of town your Evansville apartment sits in, you're only a few minutes away from great attractions.
Here are our 4 favorites:
If you'd love to get out of your Evansville apartment and spend some time soaking up the fresh evening air, catch an Evansville Otters' game at Bosse Field. Built in 1915, Bosse Field is one of the oldest stadiums in all of professional baseball. (Only Fenway Park and Wrigley Field are older.) And if the scenery looks familiar, it's because parts of the movie A League of Their Own were filmed there!
Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve
The only thing better than an apartment right in the middle of Evansville? Knowing that there's a slice of quiet, peaceful nature just a few minutes away! Located on the east side of Evansville, the Preserve is home to dozens of different animals. You can either wander through the wildlife observation area or get up close and personal with some of the hands-on exhibits.
Whether you love the soft sounds of a philharmonic orchestra or the strums and drums of classic rock, you'll find it here! For nearly 100 years, Evansville residents have flocked to this cozy theater. Located just a few blocks northeast from the banks of the Ohio River, Victory Theatre is surrounded by fun restaurants and bars -- perfect for dinner and a show.
The Ford Center is a beautiful, exciting, multi-purpose 11,000-seat arena and is the region’s center for sports and entertainment.
